September 2018

An overview of September for the Hawks. Enjoy! :-)

We started the month with a trip to Dahlonega for RA and I. The views from our bed and breakfast were amazing. Full blog post about our trip is here.

 Pretty blue skies and mountains!

Wandering through the woods and we found a nice little mountain stream...

Hot coffee with breakfast and colorful flowers to brighten up the rainy morning...

I love snuggling with this little guy on a Sunday afternoon...

Monday motivation in Mrs. Hawk's classroom...

 Working hard on some homework...

 Ellis, too!

He found a stack of photos and started sorting them...

So proud of himself and his homework!

Listening at Cub Scouts (Ellis isn't in Cub Scouts, but he is bound and determined to do everything his brother does and fortunately our den and pack are very accommodating to younger siblings that want to participate in meetings).

Participating in an activity with his buddies...

 Fall fundraising season has begun...

He's made such progress with his writing skills since the beginning of the school year. It's amazing...

Working hard on making sure his letters are formed correctly...

Nana made the trip to Covington to celebrate Grandparents Day with RF!

As the SGA sponsor I had the privilege of taking the president and vice-president of the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade classes to Atlanta for a Secretary of State Student Ambassadors event. We had a great time, as always.

 Ice cream date with RF!
A little time exploring at a park downtown...

He thought the amphitheater space was super cool.

 Such a big kid...

When the drive is taking longer than you want it to and you get grumpy...

Casual dinner at a local Mexican eatery helps the stress of the work week melt away...

Found this gem of a photo while catching up with some of RA's high school classmates...

This photo is of my dad as a kid. Ellis looks EXACTLY like him to me...

Location is ready for a party as we celebrate dad's 60th birthday! Full post about our fun weekend here.

Channeling the 50s at the party...

 Dad and his three angels...

 My person...

We stayed at Fort Conde Inn while we were in town for my dad's birthday. It's a beautiful bed and breakfast - just beautiful.

Saw this view on our drive home from Mobile. I think there's rain ahead...

Gus hoarding all the bones at Nana's house...

Sweet smiles while hanging out with my sweet Ellis...

So many memories from my childhood came flooding back when I found this book at a local kid consignment sale...

RF's drawing of an ant pile and ants...and a purple sun?

And his drawing of a school bus...

Working hard on his E's while his brother does his homework...

Car rider line smiles with my oldest baby...

When your mom is a teacher and it's an early release day, you get to come hang out in her classroom and eat Zaxby's while watching Madagascar on the SmartBoard while she works.

That's a perfect homemade Saturday morning breakfast if I've ever seen one...

Rainy days = lounging on the couch and watching cartoons all day.

Spider lilies are popping up. There are a ton of them all over our yard right now. Hopefully fall is coming...

LEGO creations...all over my house...these things are EVERYWHERE...

Gus felt the need to sit on the back of the couch right behind me. Apparently there was no where else for him to sit that was as comfortable as right behind me...

 Sweet brothers...

Fall decor is out. Come on fall weather!

Making a bracelet with letter beads to spell out his name at Open House...

 Showing off his artwork...

And reading a book with mommy at Open House...

He's doing a good job on writing his name! I had to help him with the "s", but other than that, he did it all by himself.

This little grump-grump fish was mad at me because he got water on his shirt and I didn't have a dry one to let him change. Such a mean mommy...

Building a catapult at Cub Scouts!

Working on reciting the oath and pledge...

The SGA students and I are in full scale Homecoming preparation mode...

 Silly goober...

Friday morning selfie in front of a local church that has been turned into a Christmas scene for a Hallmark movie that is filming in town right now...

 Christmas in September...

Hawk boys eating lunch and watching the GA Bulldogs play...

I recently tried my hand at frying fish for lunch one weekend. It turned out pretty good!

Pre-K is exhausting...passed out on the way home one afternoon...

Then I looked over and saw this...apparently Kindergarten is tiring, too...

OMG. How stinkin' cute is he???

 Such a cutie...
 Growing up...

But he was all smiles when we got home and played outside...

RF earned his first Cub Scout badge. He is so proud!

We had this letter in our mailbox one afternoon. An episode of "The Resident" was filming on our street, so we had to make sure to be home before filming started.

Filming at the restaurant/bar on our street.

How big your smile is when you realize that you are spending the weekend at Nana's house...

TOTAL excitement from this one as we headed to Nana's house...

 PEDICURE! Yay!

Date night!

He made a dragon fly out of play-doh...

And RF made pumpkins!

We are looking forwards to lots of fun FALL activities in the month of October!
