Happy 8th Birthday, Robert Franklin!

 EIGHT!

You're eight years old today, my sweet boy. Eight years old - wow!

Eight years ago we were anxiously awaiting your arrival and so very excited to meet our first born baby boy. Eight years ago we became parents and our lives were forever changed for the better.

This year has been a crazy one for sure, but you have continued to be a bright shining star in our lives.

Your sweet smile, your silly laugh, your kind heart, your vivid imagination, your funny humor, and your genuine curiosity make you so very special.

We love you so whole, whole, whole, whole bunch Robert Franklin!

Happy birthday, my handsome EIGHT year old son! Your daddy, Ellis, and I love you to the moon and back!

Happy 6th Birthday, Ellis!

Ellis,

Today you turn six, my sweet, silly boy! Time has flown, for sure. It seems like just yesterday you decided to surprise us a month early.

 July 20, 2014

This year has been a big one for you - you finished your kindergarten year (although it was cut short because the coronavirus pandemic closed schools), learned to ride your bike without training wheels, and have grown over an inch!

Your love of sweets (proof in the birthday photos below), sleeping/napping, your big brother, your mama, movies, popcorn, and your love of Lego creating makes you uniquely you.

 Happy 1st Birthday!

 Happy 2nd Birthday!

 Happy 3rd Birthday!

 Happy 4th Birthday!

Happy 5th Birthday!

Your sweet smile, your silly laugh, your stubborn streak, your sneaky side-eye, and your spirited spirit  makes you uniquely you.

Five has been busy, but it has been oh so good and I know that you are going to do great things as a six year old.

We love you, we love you, we love you sweet boy!

Happy 6th birthday, Ellis! May this be your best year yet!

Love,
Mama

Day Thirty --- Friday, April 24

Day thirty (forty-two)...I've had absolutely no desire to work on anything other than work for me, school work for the boys, and a few daily house chores here and there. Seriously, this quarantine is getting to me. I just want to sleep and eat.

I did take some time to update the blog, so the links to the days I haven't posted about are below if you want to catch up on us.

Wednesday, April 15

Thursday, April 16

Friday, April 17

Monday, April 20

Tuesday, April 21

Wednesday, April 22

Thursday, April 23

I finished my latest book today...so good!

Ellis and I started working on our puzzle...

He packed his book bag with paper and said, "I'm over this mama. I'm going back to school!" I hear ya, my baby. I hear ya. Mama is ready to be back to school, too.

This container of strawberries was full about 6-7 minutes before I took his photo...the Hawks love strawberries.

Thank goodness it's the weekend! We're looking forward to doing a whole bunch of nothing.

Day Twenty-Nine --- Thursday, April 23

Day twenty-nine (forty-one)...

Snuggling his puppy...

One of my amaryllis booms was broken...upon further inspection two little boys broke it while playing and tried to fix it with a band-aid. While I applaud their problem solving skills, we had to have a chat about telling mommy and daddy when they break something...

Snuggles with my baby...

Time for E to learn to tie his shoes...

Day Twenty-Eight --- Wednesday, April 22

Day twenty-eight (forty)...

Math for E...

Some words of wisdom...

Outdoor chores...

Base 10 math for RF...

Swinging in the hammock with his mama...

Goober...

Day Twenty-Seven --- Tuesday, April 21

Day twenty-seven (thirty-nine)...

I took this photo at 8:35 AM...he has enjoyed sleeping in...he is his mama's baby...

Writing about riding his bike and a picture to show him riding...

Verbs...things he likes to do...

I was working on something next to him and I leaned over to check on him. He looked me square in the eye and said, "Look - I got this. You do your work and I'll do my work."

Checking on their responsibility chart progress before bed...

This is his way of telling me that he was ready to go to bed with his brothers...

Day Twenty-Six --- Monday, April 20

Day twenty-six (thirty-eight)...

Morning cartoon time...sweet brothers...

This was my view ALL. DAY. LONG.

I binged on Easter candy...

And had a wonderfully smelling candle nearby...

Math for RF...

Math for E...number bonds using pasta as a manipulative...

Things to think about while we're dealing with this situation...

Day Twenty-Five --- Friday, April 17

Day twenty-five (thirty-five)...
Rocket pop and ice cream sandwiches make quarantine a little better...

It calms me for some reason...

Hey, mama bird!

Watching a live pirate exhibit from the South Carolina State Museum!

I hope this is what the parents of our students think...we miss them (and our school day routines) so much...

Re-arranging furniture when I get bored...

Day Twenty-Four --- Thursday, April 16

Day twenty-four (thirty-four)...

Decompressing from the craziness of quarantine at the fire pit at 9AM...

Math lesson...

iPad time with two guard dogs watching over him...

RF had to write a story...this is what he came up with...

Scooter time in the backyard...

Daddy helping RF do his science lesson...he had to find four seeds in the yard.

Mama bird still doing her thing!

A new coloring sheet...my FAVORITE city!

Ending the night by watching the Cincinnati Zoo's Home Safari - Eagle Edition!
