May 2018 - Crazy. Just crazy.

Can we say, crazy?

That's what the month of May has been for the Hawk family. Trips, events, end of the school year festivities GALORE, etc.

It's been crazy, y'all.

But...SUMMER IS HERE!

We are so excited to spend time together this summer. There is only one week where I am away from the boys at a training in Alabama and the rest of the summer is OURS to enjoy. I am so, so, so excited to spend the last summer before RF starts Kindergarten and Ellis starts Pre-K soaking up some fun, fun, fun with my favorite little Hawk boys.

A photo montage of the month of May for the Hawk family is below. ENJOY!

BEAUTIFUL amaryllis in bloom...

Getting cleaned up before end of the year programs...

Handsome devil...

Kindergarten Registration for RF!
Field trip FUN! Nana came in town and went with him to Bear Hollow in Athens. They had a blast!
Fun at Bear Hollow!

RF got a little tired, so he decided to rest on the sidewalk...

Sweet classmates...

Hanging at the turtle pond...

EXHAUSTED after a day of fun, so he took a nap on Nana's lap on the bus ride back to school...

The puppies and the boys went to Perry while RA and I were in Kentucky. Here's Gus serving as Babu's co-pilot...

And then he and Daisy both decided to hang out in the back seat with the boys, so RF used them as a foot rest.

Some afternoons call for a relaxing drink in the hammock...

May in Kentucky and the dogwood trees were still blooming...

Beautiful Kentucky countryside...

Main walkway at Shaker Village...

View out from the restaurant, The Trustee's Table...

We love waterfalls!
Nana and Babu came to Covington for Ellis's Preschool program...

Silly boy!

Such a cute chicken!

Done with Preschool and ready for Pre-K!

Big brother was there to support his little brother and gave me sweet hugs while watching Ellis do his thing...

These two ladies have made a HUGE impact on the entire Hawk family. We will forever be grateful for Mrs. Ketha and Mrs. JoJo...

Big brother + little brother...

Mrs. Ketha had RF and Ellis. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Mrs. Ketha!
This place has been so special for us. They have nurtured our babies as their own...

Hawk boys hanging out on the sign of the best school ever!

Mama, daddy, and the honoree...

Ellis picked the restaurant for dinner...Guess what he picked...

Chick-Fil-A! No surprise there...:-)
Sweet boy hanging with mama in the hammock...

I was able to catch this one as he ran by while playing...

RF's class hosted Spa Day the Friday before Mother's Day! It was SO SWEET!

I got a BEAUTIFUL manicure...

See? BEAUTIFUL!
Once I got back to school that morning all of my kids asked me why I colored my fingernails with highlighter...

And I got a massage, complete with "pickles" (cucumbers) on my eyes. RF gave me an arm massage while I let the pickles, er - cucumbers, do their work on my tired eyes.

Looking and feeling so refreshed after a morning at the spa, courtesy of RFH.

RF was a little upset that I had to leave to go back to work, so the director of his school stepped in and asked if he would help her at the front desk for a while. He answered the phone and greeted parents!
Such a big boy!

One of my Mother's Day gifts from RF. Notice the two questions he didn't answer??? His daddy trained him right. :-)

Sweet boy. Such a sweet boy...

How is it time for Pre-K graduation???

2031. Wow!

 Mama and her graduate!

Handsome in his cap and gown and bow-tie. I love bow-ties on my boys!

Smiles! Sort of...

 This boy LOVES his Nana...

Meme came in town for RF's program, so we had dinner at RF's favorite restaurant...

 CRACKER BARREL!

Time for a little game of checkers...

 Doesn't even seem possible...

Chatting with Meme before the program started...

 Singing along to the songs!

He did such a good job! Music and movement isn't his thing, but he did really well on his part of the program!

 Mrs. Marie is the BEST!

Pre-K teachers, Mrs. Karrie and Mrs. Jennifer!

More Mother's Day gifts from RF...

And Ellis...

Spending some time moving some cardboard boxes to the fire pit...

 Then he planted some bulbs...

 Gus is a napper...

 More gifts for Mother's Day...

 From Ellis...

Nana helped the boys make these - so cute!

Watching the end of the year slideshow at his program. It was SO SWEET!
I feel like I will have another photo just like this in about 13 years...

I told the boys to clean their room up and came in to inspect and found this ball by the bed. I bent down to pick it up only to discover...

That they had put half of their toys under their bed! Busted! Try again, sweet boys. Try again.

Ellis with his Nerf gun. He said he's protecting us.

So many cords and cables...packing up your room for summer break is brutal!
My advice to my kiddos for the summer!

Puppies got a hold of the remote...had to order a new one. We might as well order them in bulk. These dang dogs chew up everything!

 Oh, yes he is!

 Looking snazzy headed to church!

Swinging with mama in the hammock...

RF snuggling with mama on the couch...

Sunglasses, Nerf gun, and glass of apple juice - he's ready to go!

Working hard on the end of the year gifts for his teachers (final product below)...

 RF, too...working hard!

They lead by example everyday. We are so thankful for the ladies that have shaped their lives at their school. We could not have asked for a more amazing group of women to care for our boys. :-)

Pretty birds have been visiting the bird feeders and bird houses all over the backyard this spring...

Last week of school dinner...as good as it was getting that night...

Goober...

Ellis enjoying water day at school!

All the rain in GA has caused the bird seed to start sprouting!

Mrs. Ketha with the Hawk boys. We LOVE Mrs. Ketha and she has taught both of our boys - she's the best!

Why we do what we do...

HAPPY FOR THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Another graduation is in the books - congratulations to the Class of 2018 - go out and do great things!
Gus has gained a bit of weight and is on a diet. I found him licking his empty food bowl...so pitiful...

 Hydrangeas!

 I love summer flowers!
The essence of summertime - grass covered feet relaxing in the hammock...

How teachers celebrate the last day of work!

Wandering Target all by myself...heaven...

RF has learned what the lines in the middle of the road mean (in regards to when you can and cannot pass another car), so on a recent drive he told me EVERYTIME the lines changed...

Gus snuggles...

First day of summer break = pajamas and snuggling on the couch...

Life of teacher's kids...had to drop off some paperwork at the school and they wanted to play in my classroom for a little bit. Such nerds. :-)
