Snow Days = Ice Days

Three days off of school here in Lower Alabama as some predicted 'light wintery mix' turned into 1/2" - 1" thick sheets of ice. We were confined to the house Tuesday and Wednesday, which was pretty nice, until RF started to go stir crazy. Hoping that the ice will melt enough tomorrow that we can venture out for a little bit.

Some photos of Icemageddon 2014…
RF outside Tuesday afternoon as the 'light wintery mix' was beginning to accumulate...

Icicles on the crape myrtle tree outside our living room window...

That's not snow…that's ice covering our driveway…

Again, ice not snow...

Headed out for a slow and careful walk down the street with RF safely and snuggly tucked into his wagon…

Homemade hot chocolate…homemade, folks!

And homemade spaghettio's + grilled cheese sandwiches today to warm up my little boy...

Calm

After the excitement of the holidays, we have spent the last few weeks getting back into a routine and enjoying our simple lifestyle.

2014 is treating us well…

Hanging out on the front porch on a cool January afternoon...

Waving hello to the little girls across the street...

RF wanted something on the buffet, but wasn't quite tall enough, so he put his block box in front of the buffet to stand on in order to reach what he was wanting...

His new favorite book…

Reading a book about Mount Vernon with daddy…

RF and I made a long weekend trip to Perry so that RA could work on a few intense house projects. RF had a blast hanging out with his Nana and Babu for three days.

Unpacking Nana's pots and pans...

His first real haircut in a real barbershop…

Feeding Babu's fish...

We made a trip out to the Go Fish Education Center in Perry. RF was a bit wary at first...

Until Babu got close, then RF was a little less scared...

Fish, mama…

This kid LOVES his Babu...

How much more special of a moment can a camera capture?

Babu kept making bear noises and RF was completely confused…until he looked over and saw that it was Babu making the noise. Then he let out his big belly laugh...

More fish, mama...

Alright, Babu, where do you want to go? I'll drive...

And we're off, Babu!

Nana had a little lawnmower, rake and hoe…RF was entertained for an hour.

Sandbox time with Nana...

Such a sweet little guy...

I love, love, love those eyes...
