Life in Georgia Lately...

We are finally feeling a little more settled (although we still have a good bit of stuff in Mobile that will warrant another long weekend of moving sometime soon...ugh...I hate moving...seriously, hate it). Our days are more routine-oriented, too, which makes my type-A personality a little happier.

While most days are pretty much the same, things are busy. RF and Ellis are adjusting to their new school, RF is finally showing the signs of potty-training being on the horizon for us, I'm adjusting to my heavy work load of daily preparations for three different classes - Economics, AP Human Geography, and World History, at three different levels - from AP to regular - to three different grade levels and RA is busy handling all of the renovations to our house + dealing with our insurance company as we started our Sunday morning with heavy rain which led to a limb falling onto my car.

September is bringing another busy month for the Hawk family with only one weekend where we don't have something on the calendar, or are out of town. Then it's October --- RF's birthday month, a weekend get-a-way for RA and I to the NC mountains, then November/December and the holiday season will be upon us as the Hawk family wraps up the busiest, craziest year of our lives.

As usual, a whole slew of photos of our little family.

Gracie enjoying her new big backyard...

After school milkshake JOY...

Fun times at Home Depot (or as RF calls it, "The Boy Store")

Such a big boy...

Mama and Mr. Ellis enjoying a pancake breakfast to support the Eastside band..

RF cheezin' it up for the camera...

Mr. Ellis cheezin' it up, too...

Mr. Ellis enjoying the big backyard...

RF's new jet planes...

Meme came to visit a few weeks ago and these boys loved hanging out with her...

Watering daddy's plants...

Daddy teaching his buddies how to do some yard work...

Mr. Ellis's favorite time of the day...he throws that little leg up onto the side of the bathtub to try and get himself in...such a water baby...

One of his favorite toys...

More beautiful GA sunrises and sunsets...
This is a view of the sunset through the trees in our backyard...

Morning sunrise in Madison, GA...

Beautiful...

This sunrise is one of my favorites...when RF saw it he said, "Take a picture of the pink sky mama. Nana's favorite color is pink. She'll like it." Of course, I took the picture and sent it to her.

Another sunset looking through the pecan trees in the backyard...

RF's "Happy" he picked out after having his first successful potty-training experience...

Friday afternoon play time for these two brothers...

So stinking happy, this one is...

Family Friday fun time playing in RF and Ellis's room...

My boys...

"We're going to Athens, mama! Go dawgs!"

Gracie enjoyed some time lounging on North Campus while the boys ran around...

With my littlest boy walking through downtown...

Daddy, RF and Gracie making their way through downtown on our way to...

LITTLE ITALY! This restaurant is my favorite and it has some sentimental value as it was the first Athens restaurant RA took me to on my first visit to Athens in July 2005.

Chowing down on Little Italy pizza...

RF was amazed at the chapel bell. He wanted to ring it, so RA took him over there, but when it rang (and RF was standing right underneath it) he quickly covered his ears saying that it was, "Way too loud, mama. Way too loud."

Why do I get the feeling that I will have a similar photo 18 years from now?

These two LOVE water...we had to grab Ellis before he tried to take a bath in it...

RA with his little fellas a major piece of his time at UGA in the background --- Phi Kappa Hall...

The world famous UGA arches...

ZONKED after a fun day in Athens...

And to round out this particular post, the next two photos show how our Sunday began and ended...
Heavy rains brought a tree limb down onto my car...

And Mr. Ellis took a tumble in the hallway and managed to slice open his eyebrow on our baseboards...

Not sure of the overall damage to my car yet (dents and dings on the body and a crack in the windshield from the tree limb itself, but it wouldn't crank so we're waiting to hear if there is any internal damage --- fingers crossed that there isn't) and Mr. Ellis is doing just fine - he's a tough little guy.

Newness...

So many new things in our lives right now - new house, new school for the boys, new school for me, new town, etc., but the good news is that we are loving everything about our move to GA.

An update of all sorts of photos to detail the last few weeks of our lives that have been C-R-A-Z-Y.

Our new (old - antebellum) home in Covington, GA's historic district...

Sunrises. For the first week of school I made a 2-hour drive from Perry, GA to Covington, GA twice a day to get to and from work. Those early mornings allowed for many beautiful sunrises - a new morning, a new day.

Newness...

This summer has been a long and winding road to get us moved and set up in Covington.

Beauty...

Awesomeness...

RF and I had a 'Mommy and Son Day' a few weeks ago and we spent some time in my classroom. He enjoyed 'playing school.'

RF had fun making a 'big ole' pile of empty boxes'...

This photo is hilarious to me - RF found a calculator and thought it was a cell phone, so he pushed the buttons and said he was calling his daddy...

RF was cooking - he thought the cabinet was a big oven (I'm not even sure why he thought it was an oven...).

RF climbed onto the table behind my desk to 'rescue' a toy...

Lunch date with Mommy at Moe's...this kid LOVES salsa and cheese dip...

ZONKED after a long day playing and hanging out with mommy...

Walking in SHOES - definitely a new experience for Mr. Ellis...

Photos of my new classroom at Eastside...

Back of the classroom...

Side of the classroom...

Front corner...

Front of the classroom...

My space...

First day for the boys at their new school - they had a great first day (and a great first week!).

First dual-walk for these brothers...a new moment in his mommy's mommy-life...

First dual grocery-cart ride...

Two new Star Wars lovers...RA couldn't be prouder...
