Mr. Joe and Mrs. Margie came in town on Wednesday afternoon to spend Thanksgiving with us and I cannot even begin to count all of the moments that I experienced over the last five days that show just how much family means to me.
There is nothing like seeing your child running towards his grandparents saying their names, holding his arms up, smiling a big ole' toothy smile and practically jumping into their laps. RF loves, loves, loves his grandparents.
Those moments that RF gets to spend time with those that love him most are one of the things that I am most thankful for. Their love, their dedication, their playfulness, and their wisdom means more to me than I could ever explain.
RF playing with a printer --- putting a piece of paper into the paper tray and then taking it out again.
A baby in a box. RF loves boxes. He had spent about 20 minutes before this photo was taken taking bags of pecans out of the box, throwing them on the floor, and then once all of the bags were out of the box picking them back up - one by one - and putting them back into the box. The process then started again.
Watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Helping put up the Christmas tree.
(Ignore the mis-matched pajamas in all of these photos - we are not too stylish when we are hanging out at home.)
He loved the lights!
Little hands exploring all of the ornaments. I chose to only put ornaments on the tree that were kid friendly. He already knows what some of the ornaments are - when you ask him to find the dog ornament, he will point to the ornament of a beagle and when you ask him to find the jingle bell, he will touch the angel that is made from a jingle bell.
His new favorite toy --- the broom. I actually bought him his own broom today - a mini one - so that he can have his own instead of toting the big broom all over the house.
Laying on the stairs - one of his new favorite things to do.
His new monkey hooded towel that Nana and Babu brought him. He loves it. He giggled at himself in the mirror tonight for about five minutes.
Exploring the tree some more - this time with his milk jug toy in his hand.

Giving Lola her Thanksgiving present...
Two of my favorite people in the world...
Such a cute little guy...
Our little family…these two guys make my heart so happy!
RF's Thanksgiving presents to his grandparents and his daddy were a turkey whose feathers say "I'm thankful you're my _____." I saw a friend post a photo of the idea last week and thought it would be a perfect simple craft for RF. Before I cut out the feathers, RF colored them - mainly a few small, light scribbles, but he definitely put some love in to them.
RF and Papa Tad by the fire...
In true Hawk-style - a post Thanksgiving meal nap --- RF even came over and laid down with us.
A video of three of RF's favorite things --- showing you how you sneeze, making noises with his lips, and making the sound of Chewbaca, which I'm pretty sure is one of the things RA is most proud of. :-)
