Our favorite nurse is back on the floor today and told us this morning that our goal today is to get RF off of the oxygen today during the day. We saw the pediatrician this morning and he agreed that we will try and get him off the oxygen and get him up and moving more now that his lungs are a little stronger. We are waiting on blood work results to see if his infection levels have gone down, but the pediatrician also said that his lungs are sounding stronger. Possible second chest x-ray as well today to verify that his lungs are getting better.
RF has finally begun to calm down when his nurses come in the room. The first day or so he would scream when they would come in, now he just watches them as they move around the room - keeping a close eye on how close they get to him. Yesterday, RF was not in the mood to be poked and prodded and actually looked at one of his nurses and started waving at her, then he said bye-bye. He was letting her know that he is over it and she should feel free to leave at anytime. Silly boy...
During some rest time yesterday we were flipping through the channels and stopped on Kelly and Michael - any guesses as to what caught RF's attention - it's sitting in the middle of their desk... :-)
