Summer Activities - June 8 - June 12

Another fun week at the Hawk house!

Monday, June 8 --- Make Something Monday --- Sock Puppets
It started out as sock puppets, but then RF asked me to make him an octopus. Well, then - an octopus it is, or more specifically, a socktopus.

Not too shabby for a socktopus...

Once I made the first one, he asked me to make a second one and he immediately said, "Aww..they're brothers, mommy!" Melt. My. Heart.

Tuesday, June 9 ---Take A Trip Tuesday --- Exploreum
A FUN afternoon at the Exploreum exploring.

Hanging out in the sling...

Exploring the space exhibit...

A rocket ship, mama!

A big, big rocket ship, mama.

Playing in a little boat...

Happy as can be...

Sweet brothers playing together...

Driving the big, big boat...

Following his brother...

A spyglass, mama.

How he managed to get out to the spyglass...

Two sweet boys driving the boat...

His new favorite face…

Wednesday, June 10 --- Wet and Wild Wednesday --- Splash Pad at the Eastern Shore Center
Our intention was to go over to the splash pad, but Mr. Ellis was feeling a little under the weather, so we had 'Wet and Wild Wednesday' at home instead.

Lots of crazy-ness on Wet and Wild Wednesday for the Hawk boys…

Thursday, June 11 --- Thoughtful Thursday --- Trip to the Library
A fun (and quiet) afternoon at the library.

Lots of books to explore...

He found one of his favorites!

Friday, June 12 --- Fabulous Fun Friday --- Trip to the USS Alabama and an Ice Cream Treat
Again, a change to our original plan. I decided to take the boys to Mississippi to see Meme and Mamaw and Papaw. So, to break up our 3-hour trip, we stopped in at the Hattiesburg Zoo for some fun.

Ready for a little break in our car-ride at the Hattiesburg Zoo...

RF asked to push Ellis's stroller...

One of RF's favorite --- prairie dogs...

Pretty, pretty peacock...

Brothers looking at the giant tortoise...

RF decided to wave and talk to the jaguar...

A fun, little train ride with my boys through the zoo...

We had a great time in Mississippi --- full blog post with LOTS and LOTS of cute photos coming soon. We did have to end our trip to MS a little early as our oldest dog, Charlie, is not doing well. Positive thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
