Who Ya Gonna Call??? A Ghostbusters Fifth Birthday Party!

He wanted a Ghostbuster themed party, so that's what he got! Our littlest boy turned five on Saturday and we most certainly celebrated!

All smiles as he woke up as a FIVE YEAR OLD!

I'm not a great party planner, but I always do a themed mantle for the boys on their birthday.

City skyline, ghost balloons, Ellis's Ghostbusters car, slime, and our Ghostbusters DVD...

E's birthday invitation, his Who Ya Gonna Call E, more slime, and more ghost balloons...

E in his Ghostbusters t-shirt in front of his mantle...

A happy FIVE year old!

After playing all day, he requested Cracker Barrel for dinner - a hamburger and macaroni...

A mama decorated birthday mantle and a mama baked + decorated birthday cake...

He loved his cake!

One of his presents from Nana and Babu - a Ghostbusters jumpsuit!

Opening more of his birthday presents - so excited to see what all he got.

RF had to try on the Ghostbusters outfit after E finally took it off...

RF made E a birthday card...

Such a sweet brother...

RF even drew marshmellow man on E's card...

Happy 5th Birthday, Ellis! We love you so, so, so, so much!

Catching Up --- New Year, New Challenge - July 8 - July 21

A few days at the beach, a busy couple of days at work gearing up for Freshmen orientation, and then preparations for celebrating Mr. Ellis's fifth birthday (a full post of all of our birthday fun will be up later today) have me a bit behind on our weekly updates. This week is back to work for me and the last official week of summer for the boys - kindergarten and first grade here we come!

52-Week Blog Challenge --- Week 28 - The Most Beautiful Place I've Been
We've done a good bit of traveling and have seen some pretty sights, but I absolutely love the coast of Maine. RA and I traveled there in 2017 for our 10 year anniversary and are headed back next summer to celebrate my 35th, his 40th, and our 13th wedding anniversary. The rocky coast, the cool air, and the spruce trees make Maine an absolutely beautiful part of the United States. Some photos from our trip can be found here...

52-Week Blog Challenge --- Week 29 - My Favorite Movies
I have a few...most are oldies, but goodies.

- Twelve Angry Men
- It's A Wonderful Life
- The Quiet Man
- North By Northwest
- Up
- Indiana Jones franchise (minus the 4th one...absolutely horrible) d
- To Kill A Mockingbird

Happy 5th Birthday, Ellis!

Happy Birthday To You!

Happy Birthday To You!

Happy Birthday To Ellis!

Happy Birthday To You!

Ellis,

You, sweet boy, are the big FIVE today!

It absolutely blows my mind to think that you, my baby, are one whole hand old. It seems like just yesterday that I heard the doctor tell us that we were having a baby today...a whole month early. But, once you arrived, our family was complete.

Your spitfire personality, swoon worthy grin, and sweet, sweet heart make you super, super special.

Your love of all things sugary, your big brother, and your bed full of stuffed animals makes me smile.

Your kind heart and sweet little laugh make me happy everyday. And when you climb into my bed or into my lap in the mornings to snuggle, I completely melt.

You've grown so much this past year BeBop and we love you oh so much.

As we start a new chapter of our lives with you in Kindergarten always remember that you are loved and cherished. And while this transition for you is a big one, we know you will totally rock big kid school.

Your daddy, brother, and doggies are incredibly thankful that you are a part of our family and we wish you the happiest of birthdays.

I love you Ellie Bellie!
Mommy

All smiles as he woke up as a five year old this morning!

New Year, New Challenge --- July 1 - July 7

We had a blast this week as Mrs. Margie came to Covington to enjoy some ATL area adventures with us! The boys love, love, love spending time with their Nana! And next week we will be in AL spending time with Meme and getting to play with our favorite cousin, Toby! :-)

52-Week Blog Challenge --- Week 27 -  What I Spend My Money On
1. Other people - I love gift giving.
2. Adventures -I'll spend money on a trip/experience long before I'll spend money on clothes or decor for the house.
3. Candles - I have been known to spend a little bit excessively on candles...I love a good quality scented candle.
4. Craft supplies - If there's an event - a birthday party, a holiday, Teacher Appreciation Week - I have been known to start planning the crafts for those events months in advance.

Photos of Our Week

Monday, July 1

Spending the day at the Fernbank Museum!

Tuesday, July 2

RF is beyond excited that the corn in our garden has silks - a little cob of corn is forming as we speak!

Wednesday, July 3

Spending the day at the Georgia Aquarium!
Thursday, July 4

When the city fireworks display is less than a mile from your house and you have a direct line of sight to the old courthouse on the square, you stand at the end of your driveway and watch the fireworks.

Friday, July 5

Spending his Friday tablet time curled up in the covers...

Saturday, July 6

Ellis walked into the living room and asked why everything was off the mantle. I pointed to his birthday invitation and he said, "You're getting ready for my birthday party, mama!" I sure am, little man. My baby turns the big FIVE later this month.

Sunday, July 7

This squirrel is dedicated. He managed to make the bird feeder slip off of one of it's suction cups, but that didn't stop him --- he continued to balance himself and the bird feeder so that he could get the last few bites of birdseed out of the bottom of the feeder.

The boys and I have a busy schedule this week with some events at school for me and then we get ourselves packed for our beach trip! We're rounding out the last few weeks of summer break with some fun, for sure. :-)
