RF has been to this museum once before (but he was only a year old), but had the best time wandering around. Seriously - we had to tell him to slow down because he was so excited about seeing everything!
Model air craft carrier...
"That's the biggest ship propeller I've ever seen, mama!"
"Prepare for take off, mama! I'm flying us all over the United States!"
Co-pilot Ellis...
You can see the tip of his head. We had to remind him that there were other people who wanted to sit in the plane, so he had to get out and share time with them. He wasn't too thrilled about that.
"We're headed on a mission, Ellis!"
So many buttons and levers to adjust...
Team work to get this plane off the ground...
I think he wants his daddy to get him a real airplane to play in at home...
Considering that I'm not sure if the boys or RA had more fun, I wouldn't put it past him...
"Up, up and away!"
Wandering through the main hangar...
So excited!
I couldn't keep up with them. Everytime RA stopped to read something about one of the planes, I had to chase after these two kiddos because they were all over the place.
He thought it was cool to be able to walk under the wings...
"I want one of these, mama!"
Luckily, we avoided the gift shop or else these two boys (and their father) would have spent every penny we have on airplane memorabilia.
This plane was called a Hawk - RF thought that was cool.
Daddy and Ellis taking a look at the model of the USS Enterprise...
They love models of aircraft carriers...
And a captain's wheel!
Cool signage...
Boy heaven, not mama heaven, but the things you do for your kids (spouse), right?
We headed back to the condo and ate a quick lunch before taking a nap. We all fell asleep and enjoyed a nice long nap before heading out to the beach for some kite-flying fun!
Just wandering while daddy sets up the kites...
Love that smile...
Meme brought the boys two Star Wars kites, so their daddy helped them set up the kites and get them flying...
He LOVES to fly his kite and is currently a little irritated with me that we can't fly the kite in our backyard (we live amongst huge pecan and tulip poplar trees). Might have to find some open space here locally to let him fly the kite again.
He's a good kite-flyer!
Time for Ellis to try it out!
Yay! Both kites are in the air!
So much fun!
Brothers!
They couldn't get enough of it!
Beach trip = no makeup for me...
I love my people...
And I really love these three boys...
Having fun with daddy...
RF finally decided to let his feet get in the water. He's been scared of it for sometime now. Not sure if it's the waves crashing along the beach that scare him or what, but he's been hesitant all week to get his feet in the water.
Having fun!
Ellis has NO FEAR...of anything...
Mr. Hawk enjoying the sunset...
Fear gone for RF!
He's my person...
We spent Friday night taking one last dip in the pool and having supper before starting the process of packing up our bags for the long drive back to GA on Saturday. RF kept saying that this was the most fun he's ever had and that next time we come to the beach he wants to stay for ten nights instead of five.
Saturday morning we had breakfast and started packing the car. We packed up all of the leftover food in the freezer and refrigerator too to take back to Covington. I don't think we will have to go to the grocery store for the next week or so.
So. Many. Leftovers.
The boys were sad to say goodbye to Meme and Mamaw, but we managed to get them settled in the car without any meltdowns. RF watched a few movies while RA drove and Ellis and I napped for a while before making a stop for some lunch at our favorite restaurant - Cracker Barrel.
Playing the peg game...
And sorting the sugar packets...
Waiting patiently for his chicken and dumplings...
We finally made it to Nana and Babu's house for the night and settled in to rest after a LONG day traveling.
Gus was happy to see his mama!
Sunday morning we got up early and headed on to Covington to fully recover from our trip and prepare for the upcoming work and school week.
Daisy enjoying some snuggles from mama at HOME!
We transported the leftover turkey back to Covington, so once it had been removed from the pan our clean-up crew helped themselves to the leftover bits/juices in the pan (we threw the pan away, by the way)...
Such a fun trip, but we are excited to spend December AT HOME!
