A trucker's life...

Saturday, May 22 at 4:45AM Robert and I set out on an adventure. Our destination was Harrodsburg, Kentucky - Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill. Our route took us from our home in Athens, into the North Georgia Mountains, through a portion of North Carolina, into the Great Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, Knoxville, and finally arriving at our destination in Kentucky.

Once we arrived at Shaker Village we spent a few hours wandering back in time to a much different life - one of simplicity and symmetry.

We again stopped to take pictures while driving back through the Great Smokey Mountains. Oddly enough, this photo was taken almost exactly 12 hours after the early morning photo above.

19 hours, 750 miles and three tanks of gas later, we arrived home from our trip. Sunday was spent recovering from such a long day (i.e. being VERY lazy).
