2018 - Week Forty-Seven Photos

Thanksgiving Week! It was nice to have a few days with no schedule or major plans. We enjoyed our week together and are really looking forward to our Christmas break in four short (and busy) weeks!

Monday, November 19 --- Man Down...

Poor little man was up all night with a fever and spent all day Monday on the couch and sleeping away the yuckiness. Luckily, a dr. appt. confirmed that it wasn't strep (hallelujah!), but a bad case of bronchitis. Breathing treatments, lots of fluids, and rest for our littlest man to get him back to his happy, silly self.

Tuesday, November 20 --- Bedroom Christmas Tree

They are so excited to have a Christmas tree in their bedroom this year!

Wednesday, November 21 --- Photo Session

I'm really lucky that they cooperate (most of the time) in my desire to take as many photos of them as possible. #mamarazzi

Thursday, November 22 --- Four Generations

We were lucky enough to have a few guests for Thanksgiving Mrs. Margie and Mr. Joe came to Covington along with Mrs. Margie's mother, Mama Ditty.

Friday, November 23 --- My Version of Black Friday Shopping

I don't do Black Friday shopping chaos.
Nope.
Not happening.
I spent the morning doing some shopping online, designed and ordered our Christmas cards, and then ventured out to wander a local antique store.

Saturday, November 24 ---Christmas Cards!

First round of Christmas cards are going out today! Mr. Hawk adorned them with vintage Christmas stamps for me. :-)

Sunday, November 25 --- Morning Coffee

Weekend mornings don't get much better! A roaring fire and a warm cup of coffee to start the day are just what I need.

Tomorrow is back to the grind of work and school for the Hawks, but Thursday brings a fun work-related trip for me while the boys hang in Covington with RA, Nana, and Babu.

Have a great week, folks!

2018 - Week Forty-Six Photos

Last week before Thanksgiving Break - YAHOO!

Monday, November 12 - Turkey in Disguise

Anybody that knows Ellis knows how much he loves candy so when it came time to disguise his turkey for a school assignment it made complete sense to disguise it as a candy jar. :-)
And yes, he did have to eat a few pieces of candy in order for us to get enough wrappers to use.

Tuesday, November 13 - My Why...

On the roughest days and the best days, I try and remember why I went into this profession. Some days are hard enough to make me doubt my why. And then there are days like this one where the why is right in front of me... :-)

Wednesday, November 14 - Antiques

It's no secret that we love antiques. We recently added some items to our collection and rearranged the shelves in the kitchen to display some of the new additions.

Thursday, November 15 - Whoopie Pie!

RA bought a new cookbook of New England recipes and stumbled across a recipe for whoopie pies which we had to make ASAP. They were absolutely delicious!

Friday, November 16 --- Friday Night Lights

Gorgeous sunset to start off a great night of high school football. The EHS Eagles brought home the W and are advancing to the quarter finals!

Saturday, November 17 --- Lake Blackshear

Family reunion at Lake Blackshear meant that we were able to wander state park for a little while...

Sunday, November 18 --- Clingmans Dome

A day trip to the Great Smoky Mountains for the Hawks on this beautiful Sunday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

2018 - Week Forty-Five Photos

This past week was an easy week in the Hawk house. Not too many things on the calendar at all and the upcoming week is quite similar.

Only one more full week of work/school and then the boys and I are out the whole week of Thanksgiving.

Then, we have four weeks of school before we're out for the Christmas holidays.

And then bam...it's 2019.

The days are long, but the years are so, so, so short.

Monday, November 5 - Chocolate Ice Cream Face

Mama:  Did your daddy give you ice cream, Ellis?
Ellis: Ummm...I don't think so...(he says this with a sly grin on his face)
STINKER!

Tuesday, November 6 - A Joint Shower - Baby and Wedding!

Celebrating a soon to arrive baby girl for one of our teachers in the social studies department!

Celebrating another teacher who is soon to be married!

Wednesday, November 7 - Sophomore Humor

It's always an proud moment when students send you world history related humor that they see online.

Thursday, November 8 - IXL

When RF arrives each afternoon he sits down at my computer and logs in to work on math and language arts skills in a computer program used by his school. Proud of his work this year - he's making all sorts of gains in his academic knowledge. :-)

Friday, November 9 - Dog Pillow

When you want a pillow and your dog is nearby...

Saturday, November 10 - GA Bulldogs

Someone likes to watch the GA Bulldogs play! He lasted until 8:45 before he fell asleep in my lap.

Sunday, November 11 - Sunrise

When your husband opens the curtains to wake you up and you're initially irritated (it's too early to wake up on a weekend), but then you see a beautiful sunrise and realize that rising early today was worth it. Although, ignore the dirty windows - kid hand prints and puppy noses are everywhere!

2018 - Week Forty-Four Photos

After a super busy week + weekend (RF's sixth birthday festivities), we kept this week super simple with a calm calendar.

Monday, October 29 --- Wall-E

Enjoying the fall festival at his school!

Tuesday, October 30 --- Beagle Babies

Sleeping beagles...imagine that...

Wednesday, October 31 --- The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

We have a strict 'no tv during the week' policy, but you have to watch 'It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown' on Halloween, so we'll let it slide tonight.

Thursday, November 1 ---Afternoon Nap

During a rainy afternoon home, the sound of the rain and the windshield wipers put two little boys right to sleep.

Friday, November 2 --- Relaxing By the Fire

Mr. Hawk has started building fires on cool evenings and as much as the boys and I enjoy a roaring fire, so does Ms. Daisy.

Saturday, November 3 --- Little Boy Ingenuity

When you need to haul wood for daddy, you hook up your wagon to the John Deere. Then they realized that they could take turns riding in the wagon while the other one drove the John Deere.

Sunday, November 4 --- Fried Chicken

Is there anything better than fried chicken for Sunday lunch?

Have a great week, friends!
